A roundup the healthiest HIGH PROTEIN snacks you can have to refuel after a tough workout! Easy to make and delicious for replenishing glycogen stores and building muscle.
Although some people are “anti-snacking”, I think it’s a really great way to stay satisfied during the day and it works for my diet and lifestyle!
I usually have 1-2 snacks a day; more if I am running or exercising. I am usually not for nutrient timing but I do believe it’s important to refuel after exercise. Especially a workout that is intense or really breaks down your muscles!
In these situations I ALWAYS reach for a snack high in protein with carbs as well. In fact, over the years I’ve made quite a few recipes on the blog that fit the bill for this exact purpose.
Today I’ve rounded up my best PROTEIN-PACKED snacks for post workout nutrition! They’re all made with healthy, wholesome ingredients, most are gluten-free, and they’re all a delicious way to refuel for your body after a tough session.
If you want to build or even retain muscle, post workout protein is ESSENTIAL. But that doesn’t mean it has to be boring or tasteless. Bye bye protein powder shakes and dry protein bars…these high protein snacks are tastier alternative for post workout munching!
Sweet Golden Milk Protein Donuts
Chocolate Peanut Butter Trail Mix Bark
Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Fudge
Pumpkin Spice Latte Protein Bars
Vegan PB Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Gluten-Free Mocha Banana Bread
Coconut Gingerbread Protein Muffins
Peanut Butter Banana Protein Granola
3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Pie Dip
When I don’t have time to make my own protein packed snack, lately I’ve been reaching for the new PROTEIN CRUNCH Greek Yogurt Cups from Oikos. Greek yogurt is a staple in my diet and these new cups from Oikos are convenient and delicious.
They have 17 grams of protein per serving and the granola crunch topping is so tasty mixed with the creamy, think Greek yogurt. Texture heaven!
I always buy mine at my local Walmart! They were even on sale last time I went.
If you want to try these new yogurts for yourself, click here for a great discount offer! Believe me, with flavors like Banana Peanut Butter and Coconut Chocolate Crumble, you’ll be in snack heaven.
