Hello! Hello? Is this thing on? Anyone out there?
Well, the blogging break I took last week was a leeeeetle bit longer than expected, but very much needed as I said when I announced it. As much as I LOVE blogging, when things start to feel pressured or stressful, I KNOW it’s time for a break. In fact, I try to carry thin mentality in ALL aspects of my life…whether it’s my job, my running, or my social life. Life is meant to be fun, full of joy, and happiness inducing. If your actions or daily obligations start to feel forced, it’s time to step back and reevaluate the direction in which things are headed.
Okay, enough deep thinking…I am hopping off my soapbox! I am here today to celebrate all things DONUTS (yes that’s how I will forever and always spell it…if you don’t like it no one is forcing you to read here!). It’s been quite a while since I shared a new homemade donut recipe with you all considering I used to share at least a few a month!
It’s just been so crazy lately with the move and new job, that I practically FORGOT I had a donut pan. Blasphemy!!! Well luckily, I finally dug it out and went to work on crafting a new donut treat for all of you. This one is EXTRA special because it includes one of my all time favorite ingredients and one of the most used things in my everyday life…..Turmeric.
Now I know what you’re thinking, Turmeric in a donut recipe? I know, I know. But hear me out. Turmeric can be equally as sweet as it can be savory! I wouldn’t recommend eating it on its own, but when added to things it lends the most subtly spiced, exotic flavor to a recipe. I personally LOVE adding it to my smoothies, oatmeal, and yogurt bowls. One thing I hadn’t tried prior to this recipe was doing some baking with it!
Inspired by all the golden milk lattes and baked goods I’ve seen floating around the web, I thought I’d try my hand at a Sweet Golden Milk Turmeric Donut. I mixed up my staple donut making ingredients and went to town altering things here and there to come up with the flavor profile I was going for! Filled my donut pan with the batter and hoped for the best. Luckily, things went MORE than according to plan!

High protein, gluten-free, and incredibly unique tasting, these Sweet Golden Milk Donuts are my NEW favorite snack item! I mean who doesn’t love snacking on donuts? Plus, these donuts have an amazing superfood in them that can sometimes be hard to work into ones diet on a daily basis.
If you’ve feared Turmeric in the past because of its strong flavor, fear no more! You’ll only be able to taste it very slightly in these donuts and instead will be hit with the sweetness of the other wholesome ingredients.
Sweet, delicious, and as golden as the sun! These donuts were made for summer. I think if you try them for yourself, you’ll agree!

I’ve been loving fruit/PB/gold fish crackers and sometimes baked goods for snacks lately! And I love the beautiful yellow color of Turmeric in baked goods. I haven’t actually used turmeric for a while, but these look delightful.
Oooooh gold fish crackers sound SO good right now!!! I HAVE to pick some up.
Umm… this is AMAZING. It has everything I love in it and looks super tasty. I love sneaking turmeric into things!

Sorry, how much coconut flour is in this recipe? I don’t know if it’s just my browser glitching but all I see is “2 coconut flour.” Thanks!
2 tbsp! Not sure why it’s not showing up! I will look into it.
