Rich, creamy, chocolatey, and fruity….this Dark Chocolate Cranberry Almond Smoothie Bowl has everything you could want in a sweet breakfast! Topped with granola, cereal, nuts, seeds, coconut, and other superfoods…it’s like having dessert for breakfast but much healthier.
Thanks to my friends at Bob’s Red Mill for sponsoring this delicious post!
All this month and next month, I will be teaming up with some of my favorite brands & companies to bring you some easy, healthy meal and snack solutions to get you excited about healthy eating in the New Year.
As I’ve mentioned in the past, most people make excuses for not improving their diets due to time, cost, or lack of knowledge on how to prepare whole foods. But the truth is healthy eating (and healthy living overall!) doesn’t have to be HARD. Or expensive. Or time-consuming.
In the time it takes to go to a drive through a drive-thru, pick up a bag of chips and a pop at a gas station, or warm up a frozen pizza bites, you can throw together a simple, healthy meal that will give you sustained energy, important nutrients, and all the taste & textures you’re craving in the convenience foods you usually reach for.
It only seems right to kick off this series of healthy, EASY recipes with a delicious breakfast idea made with some of my FAVORITE Bob’s Red Mill ingredients.
Usually I am “baking with Bob”, but today I am BLENDING with Bob! ?
I LOVE smoothies and smoothie bowls for breakfast because they’re a super easy way to get a ton of nutrients in to one cup or bowl.
A lot of people say drinking smoothies doesn’t fill them up, so they don’t usually go for them at breakfast time. All that tells me is that they aren’t packing their smoothies with enough nutrient dense foods to keep them satiated! Plus, if you opt for a smoothie bowl instead of pouring it in a cup, you have the opportunity to add all sorts of fun toppings and other filling components to give yourself more energy.
Instead of just fruit, liquid, and ice, I amp up my smoothies with all sorts of good stuff like…
Bob’s Red Mill Chocolate Protein Nutritional Booster Powder
Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-Free Quick Oats
Bob’s Red Mill Shredded Coconut
Bob’s Red Mill Honey Oat Granola
And whatever other healthy ingredients I can find!
I’ve been blending up the same combo over and over again since the holidays. It all started because of the leftover fresh and frozen cranberries I had to use up. You can only make so much cranberry sauce, ya know? ?
Thus, my Dark Chocolate Cranberry Almond Smoothie came to life!
A delicious blend of tart and sweet, nutty and chocolatey, creamy and smooth. AKA: all the characteristics of a delicious smoothie! And you can even take it up a notch by pouring it in a bowl and adding tons of fun toppings. That’s what I usually do and you can learn my entire method below…
