This decadent, date-sweetened Brownie Batter Smoothie is super easy to make and tastes like dessert for breakfast! Thick, creamy, and full of nutrients. It’s vegan and gluten-free, too!
Have you ever heard of dessert hummus? Creamy, decadent hummus that’s SWEET instead of savory. I have to admit up until a few weeks ago I wasn’t very familiar with it. Sure I’ve baked sweet things with chickpeas before, but I never had them as a sweet dip.
Well now, I’m happy to say I am very familiar with dessert hummus and even know the original creators of this delicious food! That’s because I now WORK for Delighted By Hummus, the original dessert hummus company.
I am SO excited to announce that I am their new Social Media Manager. I love this company and everything they stand for in terms of health and business goals. The team I am working with is amazing and I can’t wait to grow with them as the business expands.
Needless to say, I’ve been eating my weight in dessert hummus lately! Snickerdoodle and Brownie Batter are my faves, but they’re all good. I’ve been dipping, dunking, and spreading my way through the huge stash that my boss sent me to try and share with friends.
As a company we’re all about ingenuity and breaking the barriers of traditional thoughts on food. Duh…dessert hummus is pretty darn unique! But that also means finding creative ways to eat the treat itself. Sure you can dip pretzels and fruit, top it with granola, or spread it on toast…but I wanted to come up with a new way to use it that I hadn’t yet seen. In a SMOOTHIE.
It is smoothie season after all, and the creaminess of the hummus just seemed like it would lend itself perfectly to a creamy, thick, dessert-like smoothie.
I grabbed my favorite smoothie ingredients, including my go-to sweetener for healthy smoothies….medjool dates. You guys know I am obsessed with these. And when you use them in a smoothie there is NO NEED for bananas at all. The dates perfectly sweeten your smoothie and give you the potassium that bananas would normally provide. Plus, you get a hefty dose of calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, zinc, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, vitamin A, and vitamin K. Talk about being a SUPERFOOD!
So that’s what I am bringing you today, friends. A vegan, gluten-free, naturally sweetened BROWNIE BATTER Breakfast Smoothie. It’s power-packed with antioxidants and tastes like you’re spooning freshly prepared brownie batter into your mouth. But don’t take my word for it, check out the stellar ingredients and try it for yourself!
