A cheesy, savory spin on classic plant-based patties! These perfectly spiced bean burgers are full of flavor, vegan, and gluten-free. They’re also low-fat and low-cal! A great option for a meatless family meal!
Thanks to Frontier Co-Op for sponsoring this yummy recipe!
Hey friends! Thanks for the awesome feedback on my last post. I’ve always really enjoyed compiling Q and A posts and that one was ESPECIALLY fun since you guys asked so many great questions!! Love it.
I am SO excited to share today’s recipe. It’s a savory one since we’ve been doing a lot of SWEET stuff lately (vegan ice cream cake, anyone?), but still perfect for summer.
I think of summer as burger season. We ALL know it’s grilling season…but it’s also perfect for all sorts of burger making too, don’t ya think?
These Greek Spiced Turkey Burgers have become a weekly staple for me ever since I made them earlier this summer and I thought it was about time I make another burger recipe now that we are almost all the way thru July. Side note: How CRAZY is that!? TIME IS FLYING.
Anyways, back to these burgers. They’re amazing, friends. SO flavorful and SO easy to make. I actually had my best friend in mind when making them because she doesn’t eat meat and really prefers easy recipes to more complicated ones. She’s not yet very comfortable in the kitchen…but it’s something we’re working on. 😉
I have to say the KEY to these amazing plant-based burgers are all the incredible spices and herbs that they include. Thanks to Frontier Co-Op, who sent me a goodie package of their high quality herbs and spices, I had an ample amount of fun ingredients to play around with when formulating this recipe.
On a whim, I decided to add a hefty dose of Frontier Co-Op Nutritional Yeast to the bean burger mixture and it took them to a NEXT LEVEL of greatness. Not only are they full of Italian flavors from the dried herbs and fresh summer parsley, but they have the most tasty cheesy flavor to them!
Sort of like Italian cheeseburgers…but MUCH better for you, of course!

Vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, and simple to throw together for weeknight main dish or your next BBQ! Plant-based eaters and meat eaters alike will agree that these burgers rock. Plus, they’re low in fat and calories as well. That just means more reason to top them will all sorts of goodies, am I right?
But let’s be honest, these burgers don’t need much added to them. They taste THAT good on their own. Like I mentioned above, I really attribute the positive outcome I had with this recipe to the delicious products that Frontier Co-Op sent me! I actually already have a few other recipes in mind to use them in since they are all just that good. Don’t take my word for it though, check out Frontier Co-Op, pick out your favorite herbs, and MAKE THESE BURGERS. 🙂
What foods do you associate with summertime?
What’s your favorite kind of burger?
What’s your favorite herb/spice to cook with?

I definitely associate burgers or hotdogs or bratwursts or icecream and watermelon and peaches and berries with summer! :))) I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. 🙂 Thank the LORD for summer and all the amazing parts and even the heat. 🙂 It’s wonderful.
I LOVE all those summer foods!! Part of the reason while this is my favorite time of year!!
Spices make everything tasty! They are the spice of life I guess!
Totally agree with that!!

Thank Helen!! Let me know if you try the burgers!!
I found a discrepancy in the recipe. You wrote – ¼ cup 2 tsp dried parsley – which is it? Also, I want to know if I can use fresh herbs for the onion, garlic, basil and parsley. Why do you call it cheesy when there is no cheese in the ingredients? Is it because the nutritional yeast imparts a cheesy taste? Thank you.
Oooops so sorry about that! Going to fix it now! Also, YES the nutritional yeast is what lends the cheesy flavor! 🙂
I love bean burgers – Thanks for sharing at the What’s for Dinner link up – Have a wonderful week!
Thanks Helen!!
I’m trying to eat less meat and dairy this summer. I love my veggie burgers but am having a hard time going without the melted cheese on top. I can’t wait to add nutritional yeast to see if it gives me the cheese flavor I crave. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you so much!! Let me know how you like them!!
Looks so flavorful! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!! Enjoy!
These look like the perfect vegan option for a BBQ! So glad I saw your post on the Sweat Pink Link Love thread.
