Some people do weekly food prep….
I do FREEZE prep!
Let me explain… 😉
As much as I’d like to be totally on top of things and use the weekends to prep, chop, and cook a bunch of food for the week, I just don’t have the time or patience to do it! Plus I like being able to be spontaneous with my meals and snacks, so prepping food in advance in anticipation of what I might want would just be waaay too hard.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t do my fair share of my own sort of ‘prep’. This involves a an every couple of weeks bulk shopping and cooking spree every couple of weeks to replenish some foods that I like to freeze and keep on hand for additions to quick meals and snacks all month long.
I always end up freezing the baked goods I make because I never am able to eat them up in enough time before they go bad. Also, as I mentioned above, I like variety! So I like having options and not having to eat the same recipes all week long.
Here are some of the staples I always make and then freeze:
and one of my favorites….
Greek Spiced TURKEY BURGERS!
Greek Spiced Turkey Burgers
- Prep Time: 5 mins
- Cook Time: 35 mins
- Total Time: 40 mins
- Yield: 6 burgers 1x
- Category: Main Meals
Ingredients
- 1 lb Member’s Mark Lean Ground Turkey
- 1 egg
- 2 small cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup parsley, fresh
- 1/2 tsp basil, dried
- 1/4 tsp coriander, dried
- 1/2 tsp dill, dried
- 1/2 tsp Oregano, dried
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp thyme
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together. Form turkey mixture into 6 equal sized patties. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake burgers at 425 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until cooked all the way through.
Not only are these burgers simple to make, amazingly flavorful, and freeze well….but they are made using high quality ingredients from my local Sam’s Club. Good tasting food is one thing, but affordable, good tasting food is 100% better!
I always go to Sam’s Club before a big ‘freeze prep’ day because I can get all the ingredients I need without having to spend too much. For my last trip their I bought the Member’s Mark All Natural Ground Turkey (for the burgers), Member’s Mark Plain Greek Yogurt (for the tzatziki sauce), and even splurged on some vitaminwater zero that I saw they were carrying because I had never tried it before. It’s sweetened with Stevia and I love that I also get my A, B, & C vitamins…hence the name. 😉 My favorite flavor is the XXX (Acai-Blueberry-Pomegranate). Have you tried these yet?
My favorite way to eat the burgers is chopped up with spinach on a toasted whole wheat pita and topped with lots of homemade tzatziki sauce!
The size of these burgers makes them a great addition to any meal! Nice and big, hearty, and protein PACKED. They’ll provide you with a hefty dose of lean, clean protein at your next meal. And with grilling weather coming, you can swap the oven for the grill and cook these outside!
Let me know if you try these out for yourself!
Are you a food prepper? Or perhaps a “FREEZE prepper” like me?
What recipes have you been able to freeze successfully?
Favorite type of cuisine? I love Greek, Indian, and Mexican flavors!

That is what I do with everything! I freeze food all the time, especially veggie burgers! I am the only one who eats the stuff I make most of the time so when a recipe is not single serve or makes way to much, into the freezer it goes!
I’m soooo horrible about food prep! Since I’ve been so busy lately, I’ve been trying to incorporate it into my routine more often and it definitely helps when I do. I really should start freezing things- that’s a great idea!
The flavors in these burgers sounds amazing! I might try a falafel-type variation with chickpeas!
xoxo
THE BOMB! These remind me of the burgers I made on my blog a few months back! However, we used shallots, not red onions – but I guess they’re pretty much the same thing. SO FLIPPING GOOD 🙂 You make me wanna make more burgers NOW!
These look delicious! I love having things in the freezer so dinner can come to ether fast!
I need to start prepping and freezing!! Looks good girl!
I love this recipe because it doesn’t use oats or eggs as a binder! I’ve already done my weekly meal prep but might have to make these tonight 🙂
The turkey sliders look so good!
I need to get back into meal prep now that I’m working–it makes things so much easier!
I didn’t know you could prep burgers and freeze them! I’ll have to try that with veggie burgers to make them last longer.
these do look good! i need to get better at freezer prep meals – especially with baby itz so near!
I love turkey burgers, great idea prepping ahead and putting them in the freezer
Everything looks so delicious, especially the turkey sliders. You have inspired me to do some serious meal prep this weekend, in preparation for our normal crazy weekday schedule.

I’m a freeze prepped. Always have a freezer full of meals. Great meatballs!
They’re turkey burgers! LOL
We love burgers at our house; I don’t know we’ve ever done turkey burgers.
You have to try these!! So flavorful!
I couldn’t have even told you what exactly “Greek spiced” anything entails, but it sounds so herb-y and flavorful!
Not sure if you’re eating meat now, but if so, DEFINITELY give these a try!! So good.
Yay for turkey burgers! These look so good! <3! I love all the spices/herbs you used!

OMG! These where AWESOME! I used a low carb pita split for a top & bottom “bun”, with Dijon, sliced roma tomato, 1 slice cooked bacon, cheese & spring lettuce. My patties where rather thin so I had two patties on my burger. Saving this for future delish eats! I highly recommend this recipe! I have a YouTube channel and would love to make this recipe and send my viewers to your site for your recipe!! I think they will LOVE IT! Hope that would be okay with you. Thank You!

Thank you SO MUCH!! I am so glad you enjoyed these. Feel free to feature them on your channel and share my website. Definitely send me the video if you end up making one! I would love to see it.
Mmmm… Finally made these, so good, added feta to my mixture.. A bit too spice for my husband (ketchup is spicy), so I will tame it a bit when I make again. Definitely will add tzatziki sauce next time.
So happy to hear that, Deni!!
