Healthy vegan ice cream made in less than 5 minutes and with only 3 ingredients. This Vegan Protein Ice Cream is full of creamy deliciousness with no added sugar and a hidden veggie ingredient.
I almost ALWAYS have a craving for something sweet after a meal. Sometimes fruit does the trick, or maybe a few dates with peanut butter (try this!), but other times I need something more substantial.
Instead of reaching for something in a bag or a box to satisfy my craving however, I’ve wanted to come up with a homemade treat that would get the job done. My only caveat is that it had to be protein packed and easily made in minutes. For me, I’ve found that high protein snacks and treats are the way to go to satisfy my sweet tooth but also keep me physically full longer.
So of course I reached for my favorite protein packed ingredient to come up with a healthy, easy dessert. Natreve protein!
My idea was for some sort of 5 minute ice cream and I knew Natreve’s Vegan Protein Powders would be a great base to get the job done.
Protein Packed Ice Cream
If you’re unfamiliar with Natreve, here’s why they are my GO-TO for protein powders…
Natreve has 3 different lines of protein to accommodate everyone’s different needs.
Their whey line is made with grass-fed collagen for the highest purity & absorption. It’s also:
- 100% New Zealand Whey Isolate
- Grass-fed, Hormone-free, Non-GMO, Gluten-free
- Organic greens, probiotics
- 28g protein per serving
Their Vegan line is honestly the best vegan protein I’ve ever had…in terms of taste, texture, AND nutrition. Each of their flavors is:
- 100% Vegan
- Multi-sourced plant-based protein complex from sprouted & ancient grains
- Gluten-free, Non-GMO
- Contains organic greens and probiotics
- 25g protein per serving
Their Keto Collagen line is for those looking to improve skin and hair health or are following the keto diet. But really it’s great for any one and everyone given all the good stuff it’s got inside:
- 100% pure grass-fed rBGH hormone-free whey isolate
- Collactive™ pure marine collagen
- MCT 70 Acacia
- 10g protein, 13g fats, 1g sugar, 2g net carbs per serving
But honestly, my favorite thing about Natreve proteins (aside from the taste and texture of course!) is that all of their products contain added greens. So you’re getting a ton of important vitamins and minerals with every serving. WIN.
I used their vegan protein to make the 3-Ingredient Vegan Protein Ice Cream I am sharing today. And not only does it have the “greens” from the powder itself, but also another secret veggie ingredient. 😉
Veggies in Ice Cream
I know. I know. Hear me out!
This recipe actually came about totally on accident. But I promise it tastes amazing and you’d NEVER know there was hidden veggies in it.
When I went to experiment with this vegan ice cream recipe, I realized I didn’t have any ice. But what I did have was frozen cauliflower.
Cauliflower has obviously been having a MOMENT the past few years and has been used in everything from pizza to rice to snack foods and everything in between. So why not give it a try in ice cream?
It’s got such a neutral taste that I figured it would be totally undetectable when combined with delicious Natreve Protein. Plus, you get some added fiber and important nutrients as well!
I was skeptical but…it worked!
3-Ingredient Vegan Protein Ice Cream (Made with Veggies!)
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: 1 serving 1x
Ingredients
1 scoop of Natreve Vegan Protein (37 grams), flavor of choice
1/2–3/4 cup unsweetened cashew or almond milk
1 bag of Green Giant Frozen Riced Cauliflower (10 oz)
Optional mix-ins: chocolate chips, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, chocolate syrup, nuts, seeds
Instructions
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender (Vitamix is best because you need a tamper to keep pressing the contents down towards the blades) and blend on high while continuously pressing the mixture down. After about 5 minutes the mixture will be fully blended and creamy.
Serve immediately.
This ice cream is creamy, smooth, and perfectly sweet. It’s also 100% vegan, gluten-free, has no added sugar, and 25 grams of plant-based protein per serving. It makes 1 HUGE serving that’s around 200 calories and is the perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth in a healthy way.
Any flavor of Natreve Vegan Protein works and the mix-in options are endless. 🙂
