Big thank you to all of you who contributed to the #Makeitthrough Mantra project! (if you don’t know what I’m talking about check out this post…) I feel like we got a really great variety of positive mantra’s that can be used in a ton of different trying situations.
I know I will definitely be referring to this list in times of stress and sadness…I hope you’ll do the same!
Pin it, print it, blog about it, or email it to a friend! You’ll be doing your part to share a little positivity in the world!
I also wanted to share this sentiment that Sabrina wrote about in the comments section of my initial mantra post…as she says its not necessarily a mantra but just an interesting notion to keep in mind.
A little morbid perhaps but very insightful in my opinion! It really puts things in perspective.
Aside from working on the Mantra project these past few days, I’ve also been up to some other exciting stuff. Namely…MEETING MY COLLEGE ROOMMATES!!! The four of us met at the mall and went to lunch today!
[out to lunch outfit]
I have to admit I was a bit nervous at first…would they like me, would we be compatible as roommates, are we going to be able to live together for FOUR years?! Well all my nervousness subsided as soon as I started talking with them all! They are fabulous! SO easy to talk to….I seriously felt like I was chatting with an old friend. And they all have such different personalities too! I think it will make for a great dynamic in the suite. This meeting made me ten times more excited to start school next month! It’s so nice to be able to go in knowing that the people I am living with are awesome!
In other news…lots of fun mail has been coming my way lately!
Coupons to sample some Siggi’s and Stonyfield yogurt! (review coming sometime this week!)
And a package of samples from GG Bran Crisp!
From their site:
“GG Bran Crispbread is a traditionally baked crispbread, still produced in Norway by the Gundersen family. Mr. Eugen Gundersen created and produced the original recipe in 1935 after he found the original version of Scandinavian crispbread to be the most effective and appetizing method of supplementing his diet with fiber.”
Similar to wasa crackers in size, these crisp breads are dense with a mixture of chew and crunch from the bran. I have to admit they are a bit bland on their own (unless you like the taste of wheat bran!), but as a base for toppings they are perfect! Actually, because of their mild flavor they are perfect for unique combinations on top. Sometimes when crackers are flavored already it limits what you can put on top, but with these, the skies the limit!
Some of my favorite combinations to eat with these are banana or raisins with peanut butter, humus and tomatoes, cottage cheese and jam, tuna salad, and black bean dip with cucumber!
Even though these crisp breads are pretty low in calorie they are hearty and definitely have some staying power! Plus, the fact that they are low cal means you can really load up and focus on some awesome toppings!
Check out their site for more info and recipes!
Thanks GG Bran!
Enjoy your weekend everyone! I am off to my cousin’s engagement party! SO happy for her!
