Rich double chocolate dessert hummus that tastes like freshly mixed brownie batter! Creamy, smooth, and just sweet enough to satisfy all your chocolate cravings. Vegan, gluten-free, and low in sugar.
I’ve cooked up something special this week on the blog! I’m calling it….
DESSERT HUMMUS WEEK!
I used to work for a dessert hummus company and loved the innovative nature of all the products we produced! Since then, dessert hummus has really taken off and gone mainstream. People love it as a healthy treat or craving satisfier when they want something sweet.
I personally LOVE dessert hummus…but what I don’t love is the PRICE. It’s definitely one of those specialty or luxury food products. It can be great for a nice treat every once in a while, or to make a fun appetizer/snack platter for entertaining, but it’s definitely not something that I (or many others) can afford on a weekly basis!
Luckily, I’ve perfected a basic recipe for homemade dessert hummus and have used it to create some awesome flavors! So, for the whole week I’ll be sharing my homemade dessert hummus recipes on the blog for all of you to make in your own kitchens!
My homemade dessert hummus is cheaper and lower in sugar than the store-bought varieties and also has fun mix-ins.
Today I am starting off with Double Chocolate Brownie Batter Dessert Hummus.
Everyone LOVES all things chocolate, so it seemed like a good idea to kick off the week with a real crowd-pleaser!

My Brownie Batter Dessert Hummus is vegan, gluten-free, has no added sugar, and is a great source of plant-based protein! It’s delicious right off the spoon, of course…but I like pairing fun dippers as well! Here are a few of my faves…
-pretzels
-peanut butter puffs
-apple slices
-strawberries
-sliced banana
-rice cakes
-graham crackers
-mini cookies
It’s also a great topper for oatmeal, toast, or as a healthy “frosting” for muffins/cupcakes.
Stay tuned for the next dessert hummus recipe in my next post!
Here’s a hint on the flavor: full of fiber and veggie goodness! Any guesses? ?

Thanks Helen! Hope you give dessert hummus a try.
What substitution would be best for those with nut allergies
I would sub the milk for another dairy-free milk (maybe oat?) and sub the almond butter for sunbutter or another seed butter…maybe add more cocoa too!
