I have a fun review for you all today! If you like lara-like bars and fun flavors or even YOGA! I think you’ll be intrigued.
I am a yoga lover myself, but most of the time I slack on getting in a good practice. Even more than I mentally enjoy yoga, I know my body CRAVES it…
My nickname is pretty much STIFF women! Every part of me is completely inflexible and Tiiiiiiiiight! No amount of static stretching seems to help and yoga (HOT!) is the only means I’ve found to really loosen up. Unfortunately, I don’t practice as much as I’d like. Frankly, it’s a money thing. My favorite type of yoga (and the one that I’ve found to be most beneficial for me!) is hot bikram yoga. But a single class at my neighborhood studio costs upwards of 12 dollars! And being a student with a minimum wage job and college to save for…spending money on yoga is just not feasible.
I wanna start embracing home practices more! Even though I don’t feel as loose without the heat, I think any yoga is good yoga! Hey! I just came up with a goal for December-Incorporate more yoga into my routine! (shouldn’t be to hard since I’m injured anyways )
But what does all this yoga talk have to do with the yummy bars I alluded to!?! Well I’ll tell ya!
Wai Lana sent me a package of their raw fruit and nut bars! If you’re not familiar with Wai Lana, the person or the company, you should definitely look into it (read her BIO here!)! Wai Lana pretty much revolutionized the practice of yoga by making it easy and accessible to a much wider group of people in the world! Her DVD’s allow millions of people to take part in yoga (at home!) and experience all the benefits it has to offer. Fits perfectly with my want to start increasing my home practice, right!?
And not only has she done a lot for broadening yoga’s reaches but she makes some DARN GOOD BARS!
I LOVE BARS! They rarely last long when they’re around in my house…so the ones the company sent were gone pretty quick. But they were enjoyed for sure!
I received 5 of their 8 flavors!
And just check those flavors out! SO unique!
[Cranberry Almond, Nana Banana, Tropical Macadamia, Apricot Cashew, Strawberry Shake]
As for taste and texture…all the bars are super flavorful and like I said before…if you like Larabars you will certainly like these! The nuts and other ingredients are a little more finely ground than Larabars, but I think this actually adds to the melding of all the flavors!
Each bar has around 100 calories and anywhere from 2.5-7 grams of fat. In each pack you get two small bars. And that right there would probably be my only complaint! The bars are SO SMALL! I ended up eating both at once each time I had them for a snack.
Anyways, these bars are winners in my book! Gotta love products with no sugar added, all natural ingredients! Doesn’t get any better than that.
Thanks Wai Lana…not only for your awesome bars but for your contributions to the yoga community as well!
Would you want to try these yogi bars?
What flavor sounds best to you? [the ones I didn’t get to try are: cherry pomegranate, autumn apple, and sunflower coconut]
