Great discussion going on in the comments of yesterday’s post! I love everyone’s individual tips for saving (and making!) money! Definitely keeping that post in mind when I’m getting ready to head off to college. You guys are so smart .
————————
By this time, you ALL know what time of the week it is! WIAW of course!
I am really running out of ways to announce this every week! It’s one of my favorite days in the blog world so I hope it’s not getting boring for anyone out there. I personally love reading everyone’s WIAW posts!
What I Ate:
I have been loving all the wonderful winter foods lately. Lots of soups, squash, oranges, grapefruits, and cabbage have been entering this girl’s stomach!
[juicy juicy grapefruit with a warm gingerbread scuffin]
[lentil cabbage salad]
[I ate a whole one tonight and still wanted more…I have issues. Anyone interested in starting a Kabocha Addicts Anonymous?]
[one of the best apples I’ve had since the Fall…honeycrisps FTW!]
[Price Rite had these berries on sale for .89 cents!!! I couldn’t resist!!]
[My mom’s homemade chicken soup with sweet potatoes and kale]
[egg spinach scramble with salsa, crisps with pb and banana, eggplant parm!]
[grilled eggplant on some wasa’s]
[“pizza” rice cakes]
What I Worked:
Today definitely was an at home workout day…did not feel like heading to the gym!
Yesterday however I did spend some quality time with the elliptical and the treadmill…did some intervals on both! A few people wanted to know what I usually do for speed work on the treadmill so I thought I’d share:

I’m lovin’ grapefruit! And now I’m really craving chicken soup 🙂
I LOVE JILLIAN’S WORKOUTS!!!! I’m planning on doing one in the morning and I can’t wait! Do you like her Ripped in 30 workout? I’ve yet to try that one.
I wish we would buy grapefruits, but my mom can’t have them because they would mess with her thyroid medicine.
I like the ripped in 30 a lot for a quick dose of cardio and weights! Its a but more challenging than the 30 day shred!
OMG…. I am still chuckling at the word, “Scuffin.” I am definitely adding that to my vocabulary…. I’m assuming it’s a cross between a scone and a muffin?
You got it! LOL!
i have so much to comment on!
-i love the way you eat grapefruits.
-honeycrip apples = the best apple everrr. hands down
-.89 cents for berries?? total score!
-what’s on those pizza rice cakes? they look good 🙂
Cottage cheese, basil, and tomato paste…simple yet really yummy!
I am all for Kabocha Addicts Anonymous. But I’m not planning on ending my addiction anytime soon, that’s for sure! I also recently got some honeycrisps – reunited and it feels so goooood!!
Great job on the treadmill. That’s much faster than I could go. Way to push yourself!
Oh, and I agree – honeycrisp = winning!
yum, yum, yum-all of your food looks so good! My favorite winter foods are pumpkin, butternut squash and any delicious vegetarian chili or soup.
Greattt workout! I love intervals 😀
I really enjoy workouts like this…intervals are just the best! They get the job done in such a short amount of time 🙂
Ahhh all your eats look so good! I’m in love with your mom’s soup- it looks delicious. I have been having so much soup lately! Can’t get enough of it. Let’s hit soup rehab together!
10mph? Nice intervals!
I’d join KAA (Kabocha Addicts Anonymous) in a heartbeat. Squash are the best wintery foods ever, but I love parsnips too.
RIpped in 30 rocks, doesn’t it? I love Level 3 because it’s the hardest…for some reason level 4 seems far easier. Ripped in 30 makes the Shred look ridiculously easy. Killer Buns and Thighs Level 3 is a great workout too IMO. No wonder you look so good!

That’s so cool your mom makes a kale + chicken soup! And pizza rice cakes look delicious. Great eats girl!
Wow – your eats look fabulous (as usual) and that treadmill interval workout looks killer! I’ll definitely be using that when I renew my gym membership! 🙂
Wow Totally didn’t realize that WIAW was a blog carnival…I love seeing what other people eat, it always gives me new ideas…add a little something here and there and a new meal is born. Yum!
Your eats always look awesome for real. The treadmill interval workout looks so intense-I’m going to have to go try it out-Thanks for sharing for me girl!
I love winter foods too! Especially squash and root veggies. 😀
[…] you check out this week’s WIAW […]
I’m rebellious and eat Winter foods when it’s not Winter! Meaning curries, chillies, roasted EVERYthing, porridge… The list goes on!
I’m seriously loving grapefruits right now. SO juicy and delicious 🙂
The workout sounds great, can’t wait to try it!
Your intervals workout saved my life this morning – with my injury my body could not cope with a long run with the impact of the road but I had a go at the intervals on the treadmill and it was such a great workout. It’s very interesting how the gradual speed increases make 10mph (well, I did 10.1 just because I’m immature and wanted to ‘feel’ a sub 6-minute mile pace for a minute) feel almost okay, whereas at the beginning even 9mph felt fast. Or perhaps that’s just me being unfit 😛
Anyway, thanks ever so much for posting it and for the wonderfully thoughtful comment you left me.

No problem girl! I am glad you enjoyed it!!! And I know what ya mean about the speeds…they seem so hard at first but by the end are much easier!
