These Golden Milk Overnight Oats are hearty and filling! In addition to being vegan and gluten-free, they’re packed with health benefits thanks to turmeric. The blend of spices give these oats a comforting, bold, and earthy flavor that’s irresistible!
Hey sunshines! I’m Leah from the blog love me, feed me where I share healthy vegan treat recipes and musings on self-care and I’m so excited to be sharing a recipe with you guys today! Other than blogger, traveler, and aspiring yogi, I also consider myself to be a breakfast enthusiast, so naturally I wanted to share a breakfast recipe.
I haven’t always been a breakfast enthusiast though. Growing up I was never into it, I didn’t enjoy pancakes, wasn’t a fan of cereal, and hated eggs with a passion. In high school, I usually just left the house without anything for breakfast, I have no idea how I survived. Nowadays I go to bed plotting what I’m going to eat when I get up and am excited to wake up for it. I’m also making up for all those missed breakfasts by eating breakfast for any and every meal. Including cereal for dessert.
Oatmeal is always my go to breakfast (along with jumbo bowls of nana ice cream), but in the summer a warm cozy bowl of oats does not appeal to me in the slightest. So the answer is always overnight oats! Throw everything together the night before, leave ‘em in the fridge, and in the morning a beautiful breakfast awaits.
These golden milk overnight oats have been on repeat. Not only are these overnight oats hearty and filling, they’re packed with health benefits thanks to turmeric! Have you jumped on the golden milk train yet? I remember when Nutrition Stripped first posted about it a few years ago and now it’s become such a hot trend! Unlike a lot of trends (like The Bachelor or making all foods rainbow), I’m into it.
Turmeric is powerful, beautiful, and tastes so good. Along with turmeric, oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg, a little sweetener, and almond milk go into a jar to whip up this simple breakfast. The blend of spices give these golden milk overnight oats a comforting, bold, and earthy flavor.
Just look how bright and vibrant they are too! How can you possibly have a bad day when you basically ate sunshine for breakfast?!

I’ve never had golden milk before, but it intrigues me. This might be the oats I make for next week.
I prefer overnight oats and don’t even remember the last time I had hot oatmeal. lol
I almost never top my oats with anything. There are two or three recipes that I’ll add different chopped nuts to, but they’re far from favorite things. I’m not big on nuts, but I know they’re good for me.
Thanks love! Let me know if you try these and how you like them!!
This is week 2 of straight golden milk overnight oats. I use just 1/2 cup old fashioned oats and 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, the usual ratio for all the other oats I make. Unsure about the turmeric, I’ve kept with 1/2 tsp, and I’ve been experimenting with 1 T of all my sweeteners. Coconut sugar is almost too mild to compete with the turmeric. Maple syrup is amazing but needs to be scaled back a little in the future so it’s not so overpoweringly sweet. One of the sweeteners I used (I have yet to determine if it was the honey or brown rice syrup) was so mild the oats didn’t even taste sweet.
Overall, though, I LOVE these oats! I may just keep making them until I use up my turmeric. The rich, earthy flavor of that turmeric is borderline exotic to me. I’m surprised with every bite.
Thank you for the recipe!
