Chocolate + Matcha
An unexpected combo. Unexpectedly DELICIOUS that is.
Admittedly, I am not the biggest fan of matcha. I know, I know…unpopular opinion, right?
In drink form, it’s just not for me! But when it comes to baking, I’m all about matcha flavored baked goods. Especially this Chocolate Matcha Banana Bread.
The combo of smooth vanilla matcha vegan protein powder with rich chocolate and sweet banana is just perfect.

Chocolate Matcha Banana Bread
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 30 minutes
- Total Time: 35 minutes
- Yield: 1 loaf

Ingredients
2 ripe bananas
1/2 cup liquid egg whites
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup vegan vanilla matcha protein
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup almond flour
1/2 cup gluten-free quick oats
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup vegan dark chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
Place all ingredients, except chocolate chips, in a food processor and blend until smooth and evenly combined. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool completely before lifting out of the loaf pan, slicing, and serving.
