A roundup of go-to tips and strategies for reinvigorating your spirit for life! Reset, refresh, and recharge your mind and body today.
Whether it’s the weeks after the holiday season or a mid-summer slump, we ALL need to recharge sometimes. Our bodies (and our minds!) get fatigued with the same routine day in and day out or potentially from a time of added stress and busyness. Not all of us can afford to drop everything and go on a luxury vacation to recharge, but luckily there are a few simple things you can do daily, right in your own home that can help reset and recharge your body and mind.
Today I am sharing 10 of my go-to strategies for getting back to your normal self while still respectfully acknowledging your body’s need for rest and rejuvenation. All of these tips are incredibly easy to implement in your own daily life and I am POSITIVE that one (or ALL!) of them will resonate with you in some way.
Make Time for Yourself
Whether you’re an extreme extrovert, an introvert, or somewhere in between, alone time is necessary and a good thing. It gives us the opportunity to reflect, plan, and relax without interruptions. We are all very quick to say we are too busy and don’t have time to “make time” for ourselves, but a big part of it is making YOURSELF a priority. You have to learn how to manage your time properly and perhaps to say NO to things that don’t serve you or are time sucking. Whether it’s taking an hour a day to walk, read, exercise, or do something that doesn’t involve anyone else, value the time you have alone and make use of it.
Move Your Body
We’ve all heard that exercise is “good for us” and necessary to live a well-balanced, healthy life. Well, that is 100% true. It’s crucial to maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Exercising regularly (but not too much, of course!) helps you work off loads of negativity and stress. When you exercise, endorphins are released that lift your mood and make you feel better about your entire being. And exercise is not about making your body look a certain way, it’s about making you FEEL healthy.
Stick With Whole Foods
Healthy, whole foods from the earth help you recharge your body and give you the much needed energy to fulfill your daily responsibilities. Find a dietary plan or lifestyle that suits your needs and keeps you feeling energized…not deprived! Cut down on convenience foods and learn to cook for yourself from scratch. Knowing more about what goes into your body will keep you more in touch with your individual health needs and what makes you feel your best!
Set Boundaries
Don’t take on more than you can handle knowing that you’ll only end of complaining about it later. Knowing your limits and setting boundaries with help you with time management by keeping your from spreading yourself too thin and overcommitting. Leave time in your life for fun, love, and laughter!
Be as Open and Honest as Possible
Lies, whether big or small, cause added stress in your life and only end up making things more complicated for you. You don’t owe anyone a lie. Be upfront, honest, and frank whenever possible. It will help you to clear your mind by being honest. Allow honest thoughts and communications to naturally flow between you and your loved ones/acquaintances. Carrying the burden of keeping up with a web of lies is not a healthy way to live nor does it attract healthy people into your life.
Explore Your Spiritual Side
Whether you’re religious or not, take time to connect with your spirituality. Meditate, pray, practice yoga, or do something grounds you and connects you to your emerging healthy spiritual side. When you explore and begin to understand who you are and what your purpose is, you’ll begin to live a life filled with passion and peace.
Practice Forgiveness
Forgiveness is the best way to show that other people’s actions have no power over you. It’s the ULTIMATE form of self-care and self-esteem building. Letting go of grudges, anger, hatred, or sadness is a wonderful way to recharge your life by removing the heavy burdens that come with those emotions. If there is someone in your life who you haven’t forgiven, now is the time. It’s not as much about them as it is about you. It’s time to relinquish the power they hold over your spirit. Forgiving those who have wronged you means letting go of the toxins that are destroying your mind and body. Accept forgiveness as the opportunity to move forward in a healthy manner.
Give Back to Others
Give back to those less fortunate than you as a reminder of how lucky you really are. No matter what you’re going through, there is always someone out there who has it worse. And that’s not to lessen the magnitude of your own problems, but just to remind you that everyone has their own struggles. We are all very quick to point out what we don’t have or what’s going wrong, but seeing life from someone else’s perspective can be eye-opening, humbling, and bring appreciation for our own lives. Volunteer at a local shelter, food bank, nursing home, race, or anywhere that allows you to recognize your own fortunes.
Shake Things Up
Push your boundaries (when appropriate) and step outside of your comfort zone to get the most out of life! Go to an event that you wouldn’t normally go to, visit an art gallery, invite a friend on a hike, or book a skydiving trip. Do anything that allows you to take in more enjoyable, educational, thrilling, or peaceful activities in your day-to-day life. Infuse more laughter, more smiles, more excitement, and more enthusiasm into the mundane.
Nurture Healthy Relationships
And put an end to unhealthy ones! Don’t waste anymore time or energy on relationships (family, friends, romantic, or otherwise!) that don’t lift you up and add positivity to your life. Seek counseling if you want to attempt to make a relationship work or accept when it’s time to let it go. Move on from unhealthy relationships by making the right choices for yourself and going in the directions of your passions. Don’t be afraid to rebuild your own life and leave behind people who only hold you back.

These are great! When I recharge I love to be in a quiet place so I can get some peace and I can also lock out any thoughts while I meditate. I’m starting to get back into yoga, so I’m really pushing myself to fall back into that routine too.
Thanks for reading, Leslie!! Your way to recharge sounds wonderful!
