Welcome to the weekend everyone! What are your plans for enjoying it?
I actually am not to excited for the weekend this week…not because I don’t like days off…but more because this week was pretty darn great! Usually I see the weekend as an escape from the week passed, but I really had a lot to smile about this week. A big decision was made in my life (which means posting may be getting a little sporadic around here…but more on that tomorrow) and lots of smaller, yet equally good, things happened as well.
In true Tessa fashion (she frequently does posts showcasing things that are ‘worth mentioning’) , here are a few things worth mentioning from the past week!
I have been running a lot this past week! I just have had the urge for some reason. Some runs have been hard and windy, others have been effortless…but I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed each and every one. And let’s face it…running with bright pink laces is a win in itself.
New Ways to Hydrate
My increase in running was met with perfect timing by a shipment from a company I came in contact with at Expo East! Foco Coco Coconut water! I’ve always been a coconut water fan (especially the regular unsweetened flavor…its just so refreshing!!), so I was excited to try out a new brand of it. And since I’ve been running more, the extra electrolytes and rehydrating properties of the coconut water are much-needed!
The Foco Coconut water is 100% pure coconut water and tastes pretty similar to Vita Coco or Zico coconut water (for the sake of comparison). But what I really like about this particular brand is that all the coconuts come from the same source. Whereas the other top coconut brands source coconut from all over the world, creating a product that has a mix of all different coconut flavors, Foco Coco gets their coconuts from one place. Thus the water is extremely smooth and flavorful…more so than the other brands! I like!
Thanks Foco Coco!
There is a building on a street by my house that has had a mural painted on it ever since I was little. Well it needed a little work done because it was looking sort of run down these past couple years, so a group of local artists got together to fix it up and redo the wall. Well it looks amazing! Seriously, that picture doesn’t do it justice! Some parts of the mural look like actual photographs.
Alvarado Street Bakery…one of my all time favorite bread companies…sent me two of their products that I’ve never had the chance to try before. I LOVE their bread for grilled cheese, toast, and just plain on its own so I was excited to try their high protein version. And as for the bagels…healthy cinnamon raisin bagels?! Sign me up!
The bread was dense and hearty…just how I like it. It made for a perfectly crunchy grilled cheese and was even better spread with some peanut butter and blueberry jam! Plus I LOVED that it has 5 grams of protein per slice!
The bagels toasted up really well too! I liked that they weren’t overly sweet and just subtly flavored from the raisins and cinnamon. Some bagels that are of the sweet variety are more dessert like and too HEAVY…these were perfectly wholesome and nutritious tasting!
Found this new app that allows you to take panoramic pics! Kind of cool so I thought I’d share. I have to say, I am really impressed with the iPhones photo taking abilities…pretty quality! The app is…Photosynth!
I had a doctors app this week to get a shot (not worth mentioning ..and NOT fun!), but the good part about going there was seeing most beautiful angel fish in the lobby! It’s a little things. 🙂
I always go to this site when I am in need of a laugh and this week they did not disappoint My favorite find of the week:
[Trust me…you will laugh your ass off.]
And with that I am off to start my weekend! I’ll be back in the next few days to answer some questions and elaborate more on the future of the blog.
