You review two new products!!!
I had the best of intentions of sharing two AWESOME new muffin recipes with you all today…..but sadly my hour spent baking yesterday was a total FAIL. This was the first time I’ve ever had a serious baking flop in the kitchen! Usually I stick with a pretty basic skeleton for my muffin/scuffin recipes and just tweak a few things to make different varieties. Well this time I added some of this fine wheat cereal I had in my cupboard thinking that it would work just like flour. WAY WRONG! It basically just turned into cream of wheat in my oven.
This before pic is pretty much what the muffins looked like on the inside after more that FORTY minutes in the oven.
By that time I just gave up! I was so bummed cause they smelled delicious and had so many amazing ingredients! The first were orange banana tropical muffins and the second were apple gingerbread! UGH! They would’ve been so yummy if they only would’ve cooked!
[They looked yummy….]
But ya win some ya lose some. Ya live and ya learn.
I won’t leave you all hanging though! I always have a back up plan!
Sunfood sent me two of their products to sample a few weeks ago and let me tell you….I’ve been enjoying them very much!
Cashews are my favorite nuts and Sunfood’s brand surely did not disappoint! I love raw nuts the best and raw cashews are incredibly creamy and rich! They are like the butter of all nuts!
Plus they have SO many health benefits…check these guys out!
Heart-Protective Monounsaturated Fats
Copper for Antioxidant Defenses, Energy Production, Bones and Blood Vessels
Help Prevent Gallstones
Eating Nuts Lowers Risk of Weight Gain
They even made the World Healthiest Foods List!
Figs are a fave of mine too! They tie with raisins as my fave dried fruit and I actually prefer dried figs over fresh ones! So seedy and dense….love that! And what I love more than the taste of Sunfood’s figs is that they have only ONE ingredient….no preservatives, added sugar or ANYTHING! Just simple, delicious FIGS!
PS: Chopped dried figs and raw cashews are incredible on pumpkin oatmeal….just saying!
Thanks Sunfood for the samples! You’ve got some quality products on your hands!
Before I sign off for the night, I want to show you guys the Halloween costume I made!!! I got the idea from Cassey @ Blogilates! She dressed up as Pocahontas for her Disney Princess Half Marathon and I thought the costume was so creative and cute! Plus making your costume is so much more fun…and CHEAP!….compared to buying one!
The finished product!!
It took me a while and was HARD work! But so worth it!! When I wear it and accessorize a bit I will post more pics!!
