Deliciously decadent chocolate peanut butter cookies JAM-PACKED with your favorite candies! These Triple Chunk Candy Cookies are the perfect way to ring in the holiday baking season and indulge your sweet tooth in more ways than one. Whole grain, made from REAL FOOD ingredients, and perfect for giving to your family and friends as homemade gifts!
Ahhhh November, the unofficial official start to the holiday season. At least that’s what I have always thought of it as!
Halloween is over, my birthday (the 20th!) and Thanksgiving are only a few weeks away and Christmas will be here sooner than we can imagine. Crazy, right!? It seems like the last few months of the year always seem to go by a lot faster than the first few. Or maybe it’s just because the holidays are such a whirlwind time of fun and enjoyment that it all seems to fly by before we can really take it all in!
Today, I like to think I am sharing my first official HOLIDAY recipe of the season. Sure, a lot of my recipes are great for the holidays….I’ll be making these and this for my family this year. But as for NEW recipe, these cookies just SCREAM holiday treat! And they are perfect for this in between time because they help you use up leftover Halloween candy, while also getting you excited for Christmas cookie season. Win win!
May I present….Triple Chunk Candy Cookies!
Now friends, if you’re looking for a healthy treat…this isn’t them. They aren’t vegan. They aren’t gluten-free. They aren’t low-sugar or low-cal.
They are however made from real ingredients, are homemade with love, and TASTE amazing. And let’s face it…sometimes ya just need a regular old treat! No health hacks or food substitutions. Just good ol’ flour, sugar, eggs, and butter. 🙂
Triple Chunk Candy Cookies
- Prep Time: 15 mins
- Cook Time: 15 mins
- Total Time: 30 mins
- Yield: 25 cookies 1x
- Category: Dessert
Ingredients
- 12 Dove milk chocolate bite size chocolates, chopped
- 1 Snickers bar, chopped
- 2 Three Musketeer bars, chopped
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 and 3/4 sticks of unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups white whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat sugar, butter, and peanut butter together until well mixed. Then add in eggs and vanilla and beat until those are mixed in as well.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients (including the chopped candy pieces). Using clean hands, incorporate all the ingredients together and mix until candy bar pieces are evenly distributed.
- On a parchment paper lined baking sheet, place 1-1.5 inch dough balls evenly spaced and press down slightly so they are a little flattened.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from baking sheet and cool on a wire rack. Repeat baking process until all dough is used up.
Fresh out of the oven these cookies are soft, delicate, and oozing with melted chocolate peanut butter goodness.
Once they cool though, they maintain their wonderful texture and are delightfully chewy and rich tasting. They’re like chocolate chip cookies on steroids. Next level deliciousness!Â
I, personally, like storing them in the refrigerator because they are absolutely delicious with a little chill on them! Nothing like a cold cookie with a hot cup of cocoa or coffee this time of year.Â
Like I said above, these are definitely a treat cookie…I didn’t try to ‘healthify’ them or ‘clean them up’ at all. But if you’re looking to do something like that, I am sure it could be done with a little creativity. Here a few substitution ideas I’ve thought of (note: I haven’t tried any of these out yet so I can’t say for certain if they would work or not):
+stevia, date sugar, or coconut sugar in place of some of the brown/white sugar
+pumpkin, banana, applesauce, or yogurt in place of some of the butter
+egg whites instead of eggs
To be honest though, just make the dang cookies as the recipe calls for. Not everything has to be clean, low-cal, or low-carb. Sure, those recipes have their place and I am no stranger to making and sharing them. But these cookies are just darn delicious as they are. What they lack in nutrition, they make up for in soul-filling goodness. Can your soul smile? I am not sure. But if it could, it certainly would after biting into one of these delights!
These also make for AWESOME homemade presents! I, for one, love getting homemade treats during the holidays and these are perfect for giving to friends and family. But you don’t need the holidays as an excuse to make a batch of these….TREAT YO SELF. It’s that time of year anyways! 😉
