The ultimate (and most definitive) ranking of RXBars. This roundup of every RXBar flavor is unquestionably accurate in rating each variety in terms of taste, texture, and overall satisfaction! Where does YOUR favorite stack up?!
RXBars seem to have taken the world by STORM in the past year or so. From a niche following amongst crossfitters and paleo dieters to edging their way into the mainstream market with space in Starbucks, grocery store chains, and big event sponsorships. RXBar as a company was even recently acquired by Kelloggs for more than 600 million dollars! Starting as a basement project in 2014 to being one of the most popular healthy protein bar brands on the market today, I’d say they are doing pretty well for themselves.
Not only have I been a fan of their products from the very beginning, but having met some of their employees face to face at different events, I can say that they are an awesome company that truly exudes everything they stand for as a brand.
With more than 11 flavors on the market as of this year (not including seasonal specialty flavors), I thought it would be fun to rank of all them in order from worst to best. But let’s be honest, there really is no “worst”. Having tried every flavor multiple times, I can vouch for all of them and say that they are all good in their own way. Some are just really standout amongst the rest! And based on personal tastes and preferences, I am sure everyone’s ranking list would be a little different.
So with that said, take this list with a grain of salt! 😉 The ordering of each flavor is based on my personal palate as well as feed back I’ve gathered over the years from friends and family that I’ve shared the bars with.
Check out the list and see where YOUR favorite ranks! And if you haven’t tried RXBars before, maybe this list will help you decide which one to try first.
[NOTE: this ranking list excludes the seasonal RXBar flavors: Pumpkin Spice and Gingerbread]
Blueberry
Very strong blueberry flavor…but not like the fresh fruit. More like a less sweet blueberry candy!
Mixed Berry
A hint of the same blueberry flavor from above but with more raspberry flavor as well! Not overly sweet, but perfect for someone who enjoys fruity bars over chocolatey or nutty ones.
Mint Chocolate
Like a less-sweet Andes candy! Very chewy with nice chunks of rich, dark chocolate throughout. If you like Mint-Ting-A-Ling ice cream, you’ll love this one.
Coffee Chocolate
If you’ve ever had a chocolate covered espresso bean, you know what this one takes like! Not overly chocolatey, so the coffee flavor really shines through. Great for a little energy boost!
Apple Cinnamon
Very true to flavor! I love that this bar is softer than the other varieties. It has a strong smell and taste that makes me think of apple pie! Not overly cinnamony and just the right amount of sweetness.
Peanut Butter
Can’t go wrong with a bar solely focused on PEANUT BUTTER. A nice mix of sweet and salty flavor. It even has that “stick to the roof of your mouth” feel that an actual spoonful of peanut butter has.
Maple Sea Salt
The real sea salt sprinkles on top of this one MAKE the bar. The perfect mix of salty and sweet. If you like waffles or pancakes with maple syrup, this bar will bring you back to your favorite breakfast meal! LOVE the pecan chunks in this one.
Chocolate Chip
Classic, simple, and very satisfying. I like that this one has a plain base (instead of a chocolatey one) because it really makes the “chocolate chips” stand out. Basically like a bar version of real chocolate chip cookie…without all the crumbs!
Coconut Chocolate
Whether you like coconut or not, you will enjoy this bar. No big flakes or chunks of coconut in sight. Just subtle coconut flavor throughout that pairs amazing well with the cocoa and chocolate pieces. Great pairing with the big almond chunks throughout as well!
Peanut Butter Chocolate
You can’t really go wrong with the ultimate sweet treat combination. Peanut butter and chocolate were MADE for each other and this bar does not disappoint with its rich chocolate base and peanut pieces throughout. Like a healthy Reese’s!
Chocolate Sea Salt
Believe it or not, the simple combination of rich, sweet chocolate and freshly flaked sea salt makes this the standout of the bunch! It’s like a chewy bar of high quality dark chocolate with just the right amount of saltiness from the visible flakes atop it so make the chocolate flavor even more BOLD. This one is AWESOME heated up.

I have yet to try all the flavors, but I’m working my way up to it! My favorite so far = the peanut butter!
Yes that one is so good!! Like I said they are ALL good. Just some are better than others! LOL
I usually reach for the Chocolate Sea Salt the most! I need to stop up on these bars. They’re amazing!
I looooove that one! So good.
I have tried them before. The only thing I don’t like about them is how chewy they are, but I LOVE how authentic the flavors are. I would definitely have to pick the chocolate sea salt or peanut butter chocolate.
Have you ever tried warming them up a bit?! They get nice and soft! 🙂
[…] take on RXBars I think! Love this flavor and that they aren’t as chewy as RXBars. They also have a PB, PB + […]
