A roundup of my current favorite products, links, and things from around the web! Check out the list and find some new things to try for yourself.
The countdown is on towards GRAD SCHOOL! I start my Cyber Security Masters program at Utica College at the end of this month, so you better believe I am soaking up the “free time” I currently have (not that I have a lot as it is…but I will be even more busy come August 31st).
I actually feel really good about going back to school given everything going on. Distance/remote learning is going to be the way of the future anyway and with everything in the world feeling ‘slowed down’ right now, I think it’s the perfect time for me to take on this extra workload/responsibility.
I’ve already gotten a look at my class schedule and WOW…all the classes sound SO interesting. I’m sure the course material will be challenging but it’s all stuff I’m interested in, so I think that will help me manage everything more effectively.
Another thing that I’ve tried to hone in on this past month? Getting into a solidified early morning routine. That’s meant, waking up earlier, working out first thing, and then getting right into work. This has increased my productivity, regulated my energy levels, and made me feel so much better overall.
I am a self-proclaimed night owl, so getting up earlier and earlier has been a hard transition, but it’s definitely getting easier everyday.
Let’s get into my other favorites from July…
IQ Bars | I recently discovered these at Rite Aid of all places and LOVE them. Good flavor and texture…and I love the little crunchy pea protein bits in each bite! Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip + Almond Butter Chocolate Chip are my faves.
Thunderbird Bars | If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you know that Thunderbird Bars are my favorite bars of ALL TIME. Vegan, gluten-free, paleo-friendly, grain-free, and no added sugar. And…exciting announcement…I now have a discount code to offer you all. Use code HealthyHelper on their site for 15% off your order.
Sprinly | A 100% vegan meal delivery service with AMAZING meals. I’ve been ordering from them for 3 weeks now and have been SO impressed with the meals. Awesome ingredients and lots of variety! Plus, you can’t beat the convenience. Get $20 off with my referral code: REFC8TH7IRO9F
Frooze Balls | Nut butter filled fruit and nut balls.
Nature’s Noshs | CBD infused fruit and nut bites…the perfect afternoon pick me up! I love the In Mint Condition and the Peanut Butter & Jolly ones.
Down to Earth | Zac Efron’s new docu-series…informative and he’s is certainly not bad to look at! 😉
Unsolved Mysteries | An updated version of the classic true crime show. SO good.
Too Hot to Handle | Finally gave in and watched this given all the hype. It’s trash TV at its finest and yet super entertaining.
The Kissing Booth 2 | Sequel to the first movie and just as good as the first. We all need a cheesy high school rom-com every now and again. 😉
Inside Man | Oldie but goodie starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen…thrilling, suspenseful bank heist plot line! It had been years since I’d seen this and it still held up.
Only | Seemed super timely given the current pandemic. A couple must endure a self-imposed quarantine and elude authorities after a mysterious virus proves lethal to the world’s female population.
The King of Staten Island | I am a huge fan of Pete Davidson and LOVED this movie that was loosely based on his life. Even if you’re not a huge Pete fan, this was a great movie.
Dan Levy on Hot Ones | Dan is amazing…shoutout Schitt’s Creek. So obviously he was amazing on Hot Ones.
Bob Saget on Joe Rogan | Good discussion on JRE and interesting to hear Bob Saget talk about his early career prior to being America’s Dad. 😉
To listen to
Quinn XCII’s new album | A Letter to My Younger Self. Quinn is one of my favorite artists right now and this album is SO good.
Conspiracy Theories | A podcast by Parcast that tells the complicated stories behind the world’s most controversial events and possible cover-ups.
The End of the Fucking World with Josh Clark | Josh Clark from Stuff You Should Know explores the future of humanity and finds dangers we have never encountered before lurking just ahead.
D is for Desire | A shameless podcast that explores sex, sexuality, relationships and love from angles you could have never imagined in health class from HuffPost.
