Hey everyone! Notice anything different around here? Healthy Helper got a new look for the new year! This has been a long time coming and I am so happy it’s finally far enough along to share with you all. There are still a lot of kinks to work out so bear with me over these next few weeks. I accidentally published this post on Friday in the midst of the redesign so I don’t think a lot of you saw it! So check it out for my year end wrap up and I will be back tomorrow with my first post (and RECIPES!) of 2016! Also, if you have any feedback on the site, PLEASE email me at kaila@healthyhelperblog.com! Thanks in advance.
Happy New Year, friends!!! I truly can’t believe how fast 2015/the holidays/THIS WEEK came and went.
I sort of missed the boat on doing a year-end review/wrap up post and I also haven’t done a Link Love post in a while. (Side note: one of my blog goals for the new year is to do link love roundups more often! I love sharing all the awesome content you guys are creating because there are just so many insightful, wonderful things being shared! Not to mention a lot of delicious food!) So why not combine the two to kick off the New Year? 🙂
Today’s Link Love will be a little different as I am going to highlight some of the Top Posts from Healthy Helper in 2015. So it will be a little internal Link Love for this roundup!
But before we get into it, I have to acknowledge to the cool new digs around here! Did you notice the makeover? Healthy Helper got an upgrade just in time for the New Year! New Year, new look, right? I’d love your feedback on it and anything you like/dislike. Please let me know! You can email me at Kaila@HealthyHelperBlog.com or leave a comment here. 🙂
Right then, on to the (inexcusably late) year in review…

Overall, it has been an amazing year of growth and change on Healthy Helper! The community we’ve created here has grown so much stronger and I’ve connected with some incredible individuals. I’ve opened up and shared more personal details about my life, discussed some controversial topics, and created some pretty incredible food! Healthy Helper has really become something I’m proud of and I hope to continue it for many years to come. 2016 will be another year of growth and change both for the blog and I, but I am looking forward to tackling anything that comes my way! Lots of excitement to come, friends. Thank you for all your support and love as always. <3
And while we’re on the subject of 2016, here are some blogging goals for the New Year…
+improved photography (I’m taking two photography courses next semester!)
+using my CPT and Fitness Nutrition Coach certifications more to bring you some useful fitness content
+juggle my last college semester/grad school prep with blogging
+continue to improve my relationship with brands that I have come to love
+get more involved in the blogging community as a whole (I have a project in the works with this one!)
+COLLABORATE COLLABORATE COLLABORATE! There are so many amazing people I want to work with out there (bloggers and readers alike!)…so I hope to pursue some partnerships very soon.
Above all, I want to keep helping others on their own journey to healthy and happiness. I am by no means there myself, but I believe we are all a work in progress and can walk this path together.
Cheers to an even better year than the last!

You’ve had so many awesome posts this year. :] I love Gigi’s youtube channel, and I still need to check out those budget recipes! 😀 PostSecret brings back lots of high school memories for me. 😛
Thank you so much Farrah! It was so cool looking back and seeing what was popular and what was not! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I love the new design!
Thank you!
Congratulations on the new look and happy new year to you! I kinda agree with your views on the Whole30 diet. I find it too restrictive and dislike setting myself up for failures. I think the way to go is wholesome and real food.
Agreed! Real, whole food is where it’s at! 🙂
Can I express my excitement at how beautiful this is? You amaze me at how professional you are Kaila! I think you will be a successful blogger and you are still so young!! WOW. You are definitely a blessing/inspiration to me.
You are so sweet, Emily! You say I inspire you, but YOU inspire me on a daily basis! <3
Wow! What a great mission you have here. You are interested in a lot of the same topics and diets that interest me and my clients! As a holistic health consultant and stress management speaker, I touch on a lot of these topics and often make food recommendations. Thanks for the links I haven’t seen before! And a very happy and healthy new year to you!
Thank you so much for stopping by Kebba! I appreciate your kind words!
Love the new layout, congrats!
This looks BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations on the change – I’m sure it took a lot of choosing and deciphering. I love it. I also love this collection of your recipes. There are always too many to choose from, so this gives me a perfect place to come.
Thank you so much Cora! Enjoy the recipes and check out my recipe page for more! 🙂
The new layout design looks fantastic. And GIRL I know how time consuming that redo it is. It looks great.
Thank you so much Carla! Honestly, I still feel like it’s a work in progress! But I am happy it’s at least UP at this point!!
LOVE the new look! Well done on all the hard work! I hope it’s a smooth transition and you manage to work out the final kinks with ease. I hope your lovely new look bodes well for a great year for you and your blog!
Thank you so much Cheryl! I hope so too! Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year!! The redesign looks great! I love the colors (pink and orange are my site colors too, so mayyybe I’m a teeensy bit bias!). You’ve had some great posts in 2015 and I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings! XO
Thank you so much Chelsey! I am excited for this year as well!
Congrats on a great year! I’m going back to check out some of the posts!

Thanks Deborah! I definitely will!
I’m loving the new look!! Congrats on the makeover 🙂
Thank you so much!
I love the new design of your blog. It’s so beautiful!
🙁 Wish I could actually see the recipes, but each link shows me a counter instead. bummer.
You should be able to see them!! My blog is back up after the redesign!! I will check them though! So sorry about that.
The redesign is fantastic! I love the top bar with photos, that has always been something on my dream site design list–just love it <3 And the colors are gorgeous! I didn't know what to expect for your top post, but those are both fantastic. I like how you picked your personal favorites too, it always seems to be different than what the numbers say 🙂 TWO photography courses, that sounds really interesting! It's been wonderful connecting with you these past months, I can't wait to see all the wonderful things you have coming in 2016 <3
Thank you so much, girl! With your photography & adobe talents, I have no doubt you could create a killer image like that! (in fact, I might even be asking for your help sometime soon as I am not 100% sold on the current collage!)
I just don’t know how to get it positioned there with my WP theme. But yes of course happy to help!
It looks really good, great job! Is there a way to easily go from one post to the next or am I missing the link/arrow?
Oh I am so sorry! I did have a button for navigation between posts but it must have disappeared with the redesign! I will work on that tonight.
Hey no worries or rush. Just making sure I wasn’t missing something. 🙂
Oh wow so many good recipes, you have definitely inspired to recreate some of your recipes. As its January and like so many others I would like to begin to eat healthier. I love the idea of the zucchini and chocolate together. I would have never thought about those combinations. Thank so much for linking up, you’ve inspired me. 🙂 #TastyTuesdays
