A sweet and salty snack mix perfect for satisfying all your cravings while enjoying a movie with friends or family! Gluten-free, vegan, full of fiber, and a great healthy alternative to all your favorite movie snacks. This Healthy Movie Night Trail Mix will be your new go-to treat to take to the movies with you.
Asking me to choose a favorite movie is like asking a parent to choose a favorite child. Basically…impossible. It’s not that I’m indecisive…I have a favorite song, a favorite singer, a favorite band, and other things. But when it comes to movies, there are just too many that I enjoy to choose an ultimate favorite.
I guess you could consider me a movie aficionado. Movies have been a huge part of my life since I was little. They made for fun family nights at home and I always enjoyed going to the theatre as a fun treat. My parents would take me to see EVERYTHING. So I’ve come to love movies from almost every genre.
Here are just some of my top favorite movies!
Brooklyn
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Remember the Titans
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Crazy Stupid Love
Inside Out
The Big Short
Schindler’s List
Moonrise Kingdom
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Burn After Reading
Horrible Bosses
And that list only skims the surface! But let’s face it, half the fun of watching a movie is the snack(s) you get to eat while watching it.
Some people like candy, some people like classic buttered popcorn…but whatever you choose, movie snacks are a MUST.
My personal favorite is a combination of sweet and salty. Popcorn, candy, nuts, chocolate….the best of every snack rolled into one amazing mix.
It’s what I call my MOVIE NIGHT Trail Mix. But in true Healthy Helper fashion, it’s of course healthier than buying popcorn at the movies and sprinkling in some Milk Duds or Raisinets. ?
Vegan dark chocolate covered raisins.
The perfect mix of sweet, salty, nutty, and chocolatey to satisfy ALL your snack cravings. Plus it’s vegan AND gluten-free. Can’t go wrong!

Just like my love of multiple movies, you can tell from this snack mix that I am pretty indecisive when it comes to choosing one favorite snack as well. Hence combining them all! But I was curious about OTHER people’s favorite movies and snacks to see if they were better able to narrow them down than me. Here’s what a few of my blogger friends shared as their fave movies and snack pairings…
My favorite movie is Taken, but I’m also slightly biased because I might have a crush on Liam Neeson. Favorite snack is Chicago popcorn mix – cheddar and caramel! | Stephanie
Mary Poppins and Caramel Nut Crunch! | Chrissy
All the Harry Potter movies, but if I just had to pick one it would be The Goblet of Fire and pumpkin juice is what you need to drink while watching it. | Kathy
Picking one is hard. Pride and Prejudice and Popcorn with Butter Flavored Coconut Oil…homemade. | Mikki
Fav movie is Remember the Titans. Fav snack would probably be chocolate covered peanuts!! | Aubrey
Movie – Newsies; snack – peanut M&Ms | Erica
Favorite Movie=Much A Do About Nothing. Movie I watch the most = Sing! Best movie snacks are the ones you sneak into the movies or Reeses. Haha! | Rachel
Right now it’s Coco and PB m&m’s. I first watched Coco for the kids, but I think I love it the most HAHA! | Karla
My favorite movie is Steel Magnolias. “My colors are blush and bashful” “Your colors are pink and pink”. Gah, so good. I think my fave movie snack is frozen Junior Mints, even though I’m not usually a fan of mint. If that’s not available, then milk duds. Fun question! | Taryn
Right now it’s The Greatest Showman around here. Popcorn with a side of Rolos and Diet Coke. Healthy right?
? | Roz
My favorite movie is an anime.
Howl’s Moving Castle. It’s based on an English novel, but has that special twist that every Ghibli Film has. My favorite snack is salted nachos. | Dorisz
Chances Are…popcorn and M&M’s! | Maggie
10 Things I Hate About You & some combo of popcorn, Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups, and sour patch kids | Rebecca
Good Will Hunting is the best movie of all time! My favorite snack is popcorn and Raisinets (you gotta put them both in your hand and the same time and then pop it all in your mouth. SO GOOD!). | Alexandria
Best in Show. Popcorn (or Red Vines). | Debbie
My favorite movie is SING because I can watch it with my daughter and we are literally dancing and singing along the whole time. My favorite snack is sweet and salty buttered popcorn, of course! I love to make it myself with sea salt, real butter and Stevia powder as a sweetener. I love movie nights!!! | Mariska
The Princess Bride is a classic movie. You can’t beat the love story, the adventure and the laughs. It is my all time favorite. For movie snacks I’m all about milk duds. I love that they last longer than most candy because they are so chewy. Plus – who doesn’t like chocolate and caramel! | Angie
Just one?!? Up and kettle corn | Farrah
Shrek! And I’m all about the popcorn. | Kim
