More and more people are giving up dairy these days. Whether they have an allergy to lactose or they just feel that dairy causes gastrointestinal discomfort (think bloating, gas, indigestion, etc.), dairy-free living seems to be catching on just as fast as the gluten-free fad.
I, for one, love dairy and eat it in multiple forms everyday, but I don’t judge others for their dietary or lifestyle choices. With that in mind, I decided it was time to do a recipe roundup specifically for those who follow a non-dairy diet.
It can be hard to have your favorite foods that usually have dairy in them when you’ve decided to go dairy-free. Luckily, a lot of talented chefs and bloggers out there have gone to work recreating classic dairy-filled dishes so that they are completely without their staple ingredient. Think sauces, soups, baked goods, dips, and more!
Alternatively I thought about titling this recipe roundup The ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Non-Dairy‘ Recipe Roundup. 😉 Honestly, once you see these recipes, you’ll be thinking the same thing!
Now, think of your favorite, classic, dairy-laden recipe. Now can you imagine it dairy-free? Probably wouldn’t be quite as good right. Well this collection of recipes proves otherwise. All of these delicious recipes are healthy, non-dairy takes on traditional dairy-filled dishes. Most are vegan, all taste incredible, and once you try them for yourself you’ll be saying this out loud: “I can’t believe it’s non-dairy!”

You totally had me saying “i can’t believe it’s not dairy” after looking at all of these recipes! Seriously, if I didn’t know that the cheddar broccoli soup was made with sweet potatoes I wouldn’t believe that its vegan!

I love that you always have options for everybody. If you choose to have dairy, have it. You can always add it to the recipe. I myself am a cheese lover. But I don’t have to have it in every meal. There are several recipes on this list I want to try. Your broccoli cheddar soup is on the top of my list. And that pistachio pesto pasta looks delish!
