April has become the month of giveaways it seems! But I have just had so many opportunities to share some awesome products with you guys that I just couldn’t say no! I hope you all don’t mind…I know I wouldn’t I love me some free goodies!
So in appreciation of all your help with my goal of reaching 600 Twitter followers, I wanted to post about my latest partnership with Musselmans! I have worked with them in the past and I always get excited when they contact me with a new project. Lord knows I love applesauce…and I go through a ton of it because it is so useful in sugar free baking (my favorite type!).
(ps: I am in no way compensated for posting about this or partnering with Musselmans…the products I received were however provided to me free of charge)
So basically I came home to every bloggers dream last week…
A porch full of packages!!
One of them being from my lovely friends at Musselmans!
They sent me two packs of their single serve sauces and a GINORMOUS container of their natural variety!
Along with the food fun…they also sent along 4 recipes that their team has recently developed!
They all looked delicious…but I decided to try out the granola first!
I have never made granola without oil before…so the idea kind of intrigued me! I was curious to see if it would come out as crispy and crunchy as my usual recipe.
Low Fat Apple Granola
4 cups quick cooking oats
1/2 cup flax seed or wheat germ (I used some of the flax that Go Raw sent me!)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (I used a mix of pepitas, almonds, walnuts, and pecans!)
1/2 cup brown sugar (I omitted this in favor of some extra honey…but if you like a sweeter granola definitely add it!)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup honey
2/3 cup apple sauce
1 1/2 cups dried fruit (I used a mix of cranberries, apple, blueberries, and raisins)
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. In a large bowl mix all dry ingredients. Slowly stir in vanilla, honey, and apple sauce until evenly combined. Spread on a baking sheet that has been lined with tin foil and sprayed with cooking spray and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and lightly stir in dried fruit (I omitted this step and stirred in the dried fruit at the end because because I didn’t want it to get really hard in the oven!). Continue baking for another 20 minutes. Let cool and store in an airtight container.
It actually turned out really great! Crispy, crunchy, and deliciously flavored from the apple sauce! Not to mention the house smelled AMAZING for hours after it was finished baking….like fresh apple pie! Mmmmm.
The other three recipes look delicious as well…but I am not gonna share those right off because they are part of the awesome prize pack that one of you have a chance to win!

On another note…today was an awesome day! Started it off with Power Yoga at the studio’s new location and finally got around to planting my vegetable garden.
Can’t wait for all my seeds to sprout!
(PS: I noticed a lot of you have been writing posts about MTV’s latest True Life episode…the one about Orthorexia…so I decided to watch it for myself! I found it SO interesting! Thanks to everyone who suggested it! If you are at all interested in health and nutrition…its definitely a worth while watch!)
