Your new GO-TO recipe for the most delicious & voluminous bowl of protein ice cream you’ll ever have! Low-cal, no sugar added, and minimal carbs. This ice cream recipe will be your new favorite healthy treat to make for dessert.
Are you a fitness enthusiast or someone who simply enjoys indulging in a refreshing frozen treat? Look no further than my go-to homemade healthy ice cream! This high-protein alternative to traditional ice cream is delicious and packed with muscle-building protein. In this blog post, I’ll guide you through making your own protein-packed ice cream at home, providing various flavors and tips to create a delightful frozen dessert that supports your health and fitness goals!
Homemade Low-Cal Ice Cream
One of the most frequent questions I get here and on Instagram is how do I make my easy keto protein ice cream? The GIANT bowls of creamy deliciousness would entice anyone, but I never really shared the exact method to make it. And it is VERY specific.
Unlike the usual recipes online, I add more ice and grind it up before adding any other ingredients. I also use A LOT less liquid. This makes the ice cream EXTRA thick and creamy. Overall, it’s a pretty simple recipe, but I use KEY ingredients. Especially the protein powder. I’ve yet to find a protein powder that produces the same results, so if you plan to make this, I would suggest not deviating from the original recipe.
Benefits of this High Protein Treat
- High Protein Content: This ice cream is an excellent way to increase your protein intake, which is crucial for muscle recovery and growth.
- Better and fewer ingredients than store-bought ice cream: Compared to store-bought ice creams, this recipe allows you to control the ingredients, reducing the sugar and fat content.
- Customizable Flavors: You can experiment with various flavors, from classic vanilla to indulgent chocolate and fruity combinations.

Thanks Helen!!
Why do all the post refer to xantham gum? The recipe calls for guar gum.
I’m a little afraid of using either, but I think guar gum sounds less artificial!
This post does not refer to xanthan gum. I am not sure what you’re talking about! Sorry!!
I don’t see your reply to my message…
Thanks for sharing at the What’s for Dinner party. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Helen!
