Sorry for my absence this weekend everyone! Between some blog changes and celebrating with my dad I was a bit busy!
Today’s post is going to just be a quick one because of those blog changes I referred to up above. I finally switched to self hosting! Now that may sound exciting and everything, but I literally have no idea how to do anything with it. Hence the short post…I need to spend some time exploring the web and figuring out how to install plugins, change my design, and all those wonderfully complicated things! If anyone is an expert at this type of stuff or has some advice for me I would be incredible grateful! Email me! (firstname.lastname@example.org)
So, as you all know, this weekend was Father’s day weekend! My family had a pretty laid back way of celebrating and just sort of hung out and relaxed instead of planning a really extravagant event. It was really nice though…the sun was shining and the weather was incredibly beautiful.
The day of course started with breakfast in bed and presents for my dad…
[local cinnamon raisin bagel with pb and j, a fried egg, and turkey bacon]
My dad is so hard to buy for! He never “needs” anything so trying to think of unique presents is definitely a challenge. This year I went online and created a customized snack bar through You Bar. I got to pick all the ingredients that went in it and then name it. It was a bit more expensive than you would typically pay for a box of bars but I think the concept is cool and worth it for a one time thing!
My dad’s bars had:
He said they tasted amazing! WIN.
After presents we hung out outside for a bit, I went to the store to get ingredients for dinner, and then we headed out for a bike ride to the waterfront.
There was actually a lot of people down there! In the past few years the city has been working on building up the waterfront and making it more people friendly…it’s really starting to come together! We saw a regatta going on, a little festival, and plenty of people sitting enjoying the beautiful day.
Once we got back home after our ride I took Ella for a walk and more relaxing outside was enjoyed (we had a pretty lazy day if you couldn’t tell ).
Then it was time to fire up the grill! Homemade turkey burgers and roasted sweet potatoes on the menu!
[also had some roasted veggies on the side!]
Everything turned out delicious!
We ended the night with a few episo
des of Nurse Jackie (<-LOVE that show! Does anyone watch?).
My dad said he had a great day…and that’s all I’d hoped for, for the man who means so much to me
Enjoy the new week!
2 days till my sister comes into town!
3 days until graduation!
