I like to update my podcast playlists every one in a while just to keep things fresh. Of course I have my old stand-by favorites, but it’s always exciting to start listening to a new podcast that really speaks to you.
Today I have 4 health focused podcasts that I incorporated into my listening schedule and I think you’ll find them fascinating. Not only are they great for information, but the hosts of these shows are down to earth, easy to listen to, and make it seem like you’re sitting down for an in person conversation with them.
I’ve been learning a lot from these folks and I think you will too.
Food Psych with Christy Harrison has quickly become one of my favorites. Christy Harrison is a jack of all trades when it comes to health and nutrition. She’s been a journalist, worked in nutrition media, and is currently an RD who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. Her podcast is the cross section of exactly what it’s titled…food and psychology. Each episode, she sits down with a guest (or two) and shares a meal that has some sort of relevance or importance in their food history. While they eat, they chat about their relationships with food and how food has played a role in their lives (in good and bad ways). She has guests ranging from chefs and comedians to entrepreneurs and psychologists. Christy delves into topics such as the science of eating, addiction, intuitive eating, mindfulness, and even reveals her own past with disordered eating. She’s personable, knowledgable, and incredibly insightful about how what we eat and how we think intersect on a daily basis. This is a must listen and I highly suggest you start right from episode 1!
The Wellness Wonderland
I’ve long been a fan of Katie Dalebout as an advocate for self love, body acceptance, and forming healthy relationships with food and exercise. When I found out she had a podcast of her very own, I had to give a listen. The premise of The Wellness Wonderland is that we all have the power to create our own wonderland…a place where we’re optimally healthy, happy, and free. In talking with her guests (who include top health and fitness professionals, writers, yogis, entrepreneurs, visionaries, gurus, and more!), Katie seeks to inspire her listeners with thoughts and ideas that help them reach their own true potential. Each guest shares their own individual journey to wellness and helps listeners understand their own paths a little bit better. We’re all different and Katie’s powerful chats show that there is no one right path to finding your purpose in life.
The Health Beet
The Health Beet is an up and coming podcast presented by two plant-based diet advocates who changed their lives by making smarter health and fitness choices after college. They’re a young married couple who are clearly passionate about helping others improve their lives and their witty banter is entertaining and informational. They cover topics including: gluten-free living, veganism, running, sticking with healthy habits, healthy living on-the-go, creating a positive mental outlook, organics, and more! The podcasts are quick and to the point! Great for a small dose of health and happiness in your everyday life.
Confidence On-the-Go with Trish Blackwell
Trish is your ultimate cheerleader! She’s a personal trainer, health lover, and all around pro-YOU person. The motivating energy and spirit she exudes on a daily basis comes through in her podcast. She’s dedicated her life to helping other build confidence, foster positive self esteem, and break free from the metaphorical chains that are holding them back from reaching their true potential. Every single episode is jam-packed with advice, words of wisdom, and incredible insights on how to build yourself up so that you start to believe that you can achieve your goals. Whether your aspirations are fitness, career, or relationship related, this podcast is the stepping stone to gaining the confidence you need to succeed.
